London Highlights by Car
4 hour tour

A good introduction to London.

This tour takes in a selection of major highlights and can, if you choose, include one internal site visit of your choice. As we travel around there will also be opportunities to leave the car to take pictures.

Highlights can include Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard (weather dependant), Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, London Eye, River Thames, Downing Street, Harrods, some of The Royal Parks, National Gallery, Tate Modern, National Portrait Gallery, the Financial District (the site of old Roman London) and more.

Popular sites for internal visits include:

Westminster Abbey: Very much the Royal church. The site of Royal occasions since 1066 including Coronations, weddings, funerals and burials. Monarchs throughout history have passed through the Abbey from William I in 1066 to our present day Queen Elizabeth II. We will visit the tombs of Mary Queen of Scots, Elizabeth I and Bloody Mary and tread the same path as William & Kate did in 2011. Also included among the 3,000 burials here are Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton and Charles Dickens!

Tower of London: A 900 year old castle built by the 11th Century Norman invaders who came to claim the crown of England! Today the home of the Crown Jewels and numerous tales of its 900 year history including Royal executions, prisoners and much much more.

British Museum: Human history and culture from around the world! See the Rosetta Stone – the key to unlocking the mystery of Hieroglyphs, the spectacular Parthenon Marbles and the 5,500 year old perfectly preserved Gebelein Man.

St Paul’s Cathedral: Christopher Wren’s masterpiece and the place where Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. St Paul’s, with its world-famous dome, is an iconic feature of the London skyline. We will enjoy the cathedral’s awe-inspiring interior and discover fascinating stories about its history. We’ll visit the crypt below the Cathedral floor and the world famous Whispering Gallery along with the opportunity to climb the Dome and get wonderful views of London – a hit for all ages

National Gallery: Arguably the best collection of western European art in the world from 1200–1900. See the works of DaVinci, Van Gogh, Raphael, Monet, Titian and many more.

Internal visits typically take between 1.5 to 2 hours.
